Welcome to the Junior League of Louisville! On behalf of our members I welcome you to explore our website to learn more about our membership and the impact on our community. Throughout our 96+ year history the Junior League is responsible for training thousands of leaders and impacting our community through civic service.
Explore our history and you will find our members have played roles in bringing many crucial projects and non profits to our city including the Ronald McDonald House, The Susan G Komen Race for the Cure, Open Doors with Louisville Visual Arts, Gilda’s Club and more. Most recently we launched an initiative with other community partners to bring Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to Louisville. This program allows children to receive a book each month between the ages of birth and five helping to ensure they are Kindergarten ready. Sadly, only about 50% of kids enter Kindergarten prepared in Jefferson County. We are also very proud one of our members launched Lemonade Day here in Louisville last year. Lemonade Day teaches children to be tomorrow’s entrepreneurs. We are participating in this initiative to make the opportunity available to more of our children.
Our community impact is vast and doesn’t stop with our community projects. Members go through intense hands on and facilitated learning training our members receive. Members go on to lead other non profits, sit on boards and take their skills into the work life. Leaders truly do start here.
I encourage you to support the work of the Junior League of Louisville. If you are interested in becoming a member learn more here. If you would like to contribute financially support the league by donating here.
