For the women of Junior League of Louisville it is a desire to better themselves and their community. Through this unity of purpose, this unique group of women has had, and continues to have, a profound impact upon the Louisville area.
Ask any Junior League of Louisville member why she joined the organization and each will have a personal answer. One may say it was to make new friends, another might mention a desire to get involved in the community, while yet another wants to learn new skills.
The Junior League of Louisville offers opportunities for all of this and much more!
Training
Training represents a hallmark of the Junior League experience. In addition to the “hands-on” training members receive through their committee placements, they also benefit from training on topics such as Leadership 101, Financial Planning, and Understanding Community Issues. These trainings strengthen leadership development in our members and empower them to take action in our community.
What Are the Membership Requirements?
Must be 22 years of age or older- Must be a current resident of the Louisville area
- Must attend at least one Membership Orientation Meeting
- Must agree to engage in community service in connection with the program of the Junior League of Louisville
- Must be interested in voluntarism, have a commitment to community service and must be interested in developing your potential for voluntary community participation.
How Can I Join?
We are now accepting applications for our Spring Provisional Class that will begin January 2011. Applications are due by December 20, 2010. If you are interested in becoming a member, please read and submit an application. How to Transfer into Junior League of Louisville
Are you moving to the Louisville area and presently a member of another Junior League? We would like to have you as part of our membership!
If you wish to transfer into the Junior League of Louisville and are member in good standing in another Junior League, you need to send a request in writing to the Corresponding Secretary of your home league. She will then complete the necessary papers to transfer your membership to the Junior League of Louisville. Once the Corresponding Secretary of the Junior League of Louisville has received your transfer cards from your home league, she will contact you with information about the Junior League of Louisville.
You will then be placed on the Transfer Committee in the Junior League of Louisville if you are an active member. If you need information about your home league, please contact our Corresponding Secretary, Leigh Meredith, via this form and she will be happy to assist you.
